Sunny Sunday

Just as the title says, it has been a beautiful sunny day. I enjoyed a longer stay in bed this morning, because Petra stayed at her mums house last night. I took full advantage and invited both my girlfriends over. Wow, what a night! This morning we went skating, I am feeling just a little under the weather at the moment, so I didn't over exert myself on the skates. After lunch we took a drive to Vysehrad to meet Petras family and have a little walk. It was a great afternoon and after taking a few moments to enjoy the view from the cliff top we then headed into town to have dinner in a quant little coffee shop come restuarant. I ordered the tagliatelle with spinach and garlic which Petra is not too keen about now as the meal was very rich with garlic, hahaha. Then just a bit more walking around the old town, culminating in a huge double icecream on old town square whilst watching the tourists (yes it is a spectator sport actually).

What a great day. This evening we are just relaxing with VH1 classic giving some tunes through the new HiFi setup to the TV. Petra brought back from her mums house the Sony HiFi that was standing redundant in her old room. So I have hooked it up to the Audio-out at the back of my 50inch plasma TV and bingo, I now have some quality sound for watching films or just listening to the music TV. Just a little bit closer to my ideal set-up!

Back to work tomorrow, damn that's a depressing thought.

Podcasts

It's been a colourful week, I suppose I'll start with the weather as usual, it seems that I can't blog without explaining how the weather has been. The week started off rather grim, a little cold, and no sunshine around, but as the days rolled by it improved and by Friday the sun was back out and encouraging me towards the weekend.

This morning I had a well earnt lie in. I got up about 8.45am and shortly afterwards when the coffee had speeded up my waking rate, I slipped on my nice white Adidas running shoes, blue aasics shorts and a nice little sweatshirt to keep me warm on a bright sunny but only 9 degree morning, and headed out for a invigorating 8k run. It was the best way to start my weekend. It was actually the most exciting thing that I have done so far today.

Recently I discovered podcasts and since have enjoyed some really good laughs with regular download of some current comedy shows. So today I took a while to google for some more and much to my delight managed to find some additional pods to synch to my i-phone. One or two I would recommend are '8 out of 10 cats' , 'friday night comedy' and 'Steve Wright in the afternoon'. Give them a try, and if you also have some to recommend, let me know.

Caterpillar sandwich

Don't you just hate it when you decide to nip out for some lunch, and drop by the local coffee shop to pick up a sandwich only to find when you bite in to it, that it has a bloody great big caterpillar, still alive, crawling around in it!

sure does put you off your lunch, and on the upside gets you a few free coffees in the following days. The most shocking part was actually getting the free coffees. In this country you'd expect to get charged extra for the caterpillar.

Running and PowerYoga

I have been out for a fantastic run this morning. During this week I have been quite busy and suffering a little with sort muscles from the training that I did on Sunday night. If you have ever tried ‘Power Yoga’ and can remember the first time that you did, you’ll know exactly what I mean! I really enjoyed the yoga because it was so challenging and I could see how long term regular classes can benefit my muscle condition and general posture, and obviously give me a healthier back. I would like to return to have another go now that I am feeling mostly recovered. The Health Club that we went to was a fairly new one, and a much more upmarket one than you would usually find here. In fact I would go as far as to say luxury. This of course went along with a luxury price. It costs around 166 Euro per month for the full couple membership. We are not that rich just yet. Maybe next year eh!

So back to the run, I have been looking for new routes and some different destinations for my runs recently, and I am pleased to say that I am finding some enjoyable routes for my feet to travel.

Crazy Days

It's incredibly busy for us at work at the moment. We are in one of those sticky situations where our work has increased dramatically as the new process for Bid management settles in but we have lost a number of our team. It's been very tight like this for a couple of months now, so I hope it begins to improve soon. I'm sure everything would be fine once we are up to speed on the resources front. I suppose we have just got to grit our teeth and dig in for a while longer. You know what people say, sometimes things get a lot worse before they get better!

I noticed that the weather has been a lot warmer here than in the UK, I guess it's one of the reasons I like to live here. The summer feels so much longer, but really I think it's only because the average temperature is higher between say, the end of april untill into October. At the moment it is still in the high 20's whereas the temperature in the UK is struggling to top 20 degrees.

I always seem short of time these days, but I want to get a few more pictures up on my photoblog when I get the chance. I have got so many waiting to go on.

If I don't go to bed too late tonight, I should be able to get out for a run in the morning. so cau for now.....
